What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Sites also use similar browser storage ("local storage") for the same purpose. Both can be used to remember settings, and both can be used to track people. We only do the first.
What this site stores
- Cookie notice. When you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the page, the site saves one item in local storage (named pt-consent) so it does not ask again on this device. It contains no personal information and is never sent to us. It stays until you clear your browser's site data.
- Nothing else. The site sets no first-party cookies, runs no analytics, and has no advertising, social-media or session-replay scripts. The estimate form sends what you type straight to us and keeps no copy in your browser.
Other companies your browser talks to
Almost everything on our pages, including the typefaces, is served from this site. One feature loads files from another company's servers. When your browser fetches them, that company sees your IP address, the page address that asked for the file and your browser type, like any web request. To our knowledge it sets no cookies through these requests.
- OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org): the interactive service-area map on the About page. It loads only when that map scrolls into view. If it does not load, a drawn map is shown instead.
- Instagram: the footer links to our Instagram profile. Nothing loads from Instagram unless you follow the link, at which point Instagram's own policies apply.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) serves every page and keeps standard server logs, described in the privacy policy.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings; this site works the same with them blocked, except that the cookie notice will show again. Blocking requests to OpenFreeMap (for example with a content blocker) also works: the About page shows the drawn map instead.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics or any other tracking, we will list it here first, update the notice to ask for your consent before it loads, and update the date at the top of this page.
